We assigned roles recently (see below). Each team member has an important part to play in the overall functioning of the team! Our team asks each person to participate in all four parts of the FLL competition: Robot Game, Technical Presentation, Research Project and Teamwork. But there are individuals that have strengths in certain skill sets.
Team Roles
We assigned roles this week: Builder leader, Programmer leader, Scribe/Photographer/Videographer, Power Czar, Robot and Attachment Integrity Meister, and Team Elder.
Robot Mission Progress
Although our strategy is still top secret, we can say that we have worked on five missions so far. Some are going great or are complete, but we are working through issues on others. One mission we can share is that we have successfully attached the Crash Test Dude to the robot for the duration of the run!
We have been doing many things to learn about FLL Values and Gracious Professionalism. We recently played "hang-man" with key words from FLL Values and Gracious Professionalism. We cloned the robot, so that team members can work simultaneously. We started building attachments and did some initial programming.
The kids completed an FLL Values/Gracious Professionalism crossword puzzle (Download FLL Values and Gracious Professionalism crossword). The project continues to evolve. We have chosen our community and a preliminary project title. A few experts have been contacted.
